This talk will cover the vision of the Robotic Operating System (ROS) and how it became reality. It will also cover the state of open source robotics, including what the community is doing, what tools and resources are available for developers, and where there are opportunities to get involved. Dave Wilson started developing apps for the iPhone in 2008, and has been having great fun - and making a few bucks - ever since. He will talk about his experiences in developing and selling mobile apps, and discuss what you need to know, and do, to jump into the business yourself. This seminar will be given by Christine Silver and Duane Strong. They will provide guidelines for Best Practices for Professional Consultants.
