Dr. Lavian was a principal scientist at Nortel Networks Research Lab and a visiting scientist at UC Berkeley Engineering. He identified prospective business and technology ideas, turning them to new networking products. He was the Principal Investigator for three US Department of Defense (DARPA) projects.
